Story
Hiiii, thanks for coming here ! With less then 3 weeks to go now ( better late then never, typical me ) here’s my story … I’ve always found it really tough to talk about what happened to my 18 month nephew Kian. There are still so many difficult emotions and unanswered questions for our family, but getting back into running has given me something positive to focus on.
A purpose. A challenge. And something I can do for him.
We are still left with the unanswered question of why we lost Kian. Something our family continues to live with every single day.
Running has always been something I’ve loved, but when we lost Kian, I completely lost the energy and motivation for anything.
Two years on, it still hurts every single day ! BUT I’ve finally put my trainers back on, and I’m training for the Great South Run, proudly sponsored by Harbourside Windows & Doors.
Tom from work is taking on the challenge alongside me, and together we’ll be raising money for Simon Says, the only charity in Hampshire dedicated to supporting bereaved children and young people, helping them grow around their grief with hope.
Simon Says has supported my mum, my sister, my nieces and my nephew so much through therapy, events and, most importantly, by being part of a community that truly understands. They receive no government funding, so fundraising and donations really do make a difference.
Thank you so much for reading this and if you can share or donate that would be amazing, for Kian forever 18months and for Simon says supporting all the other families going through something you should never have to experience.
See you at the finish line. Xxxx
