Story
In my professional life, I manage complex construction projects. In 2026, I am taking on a different kind of challenge: running the London Marathon at age 47 to support Potential Kids.
Why Potential Kids?
Based in Welwyn Hatfield, Potential Kids is an award-winning charity that provides a lifeline for neurodiverse children (Autism, ADHD, and related conditions) and their families. They offer:
Specialised Activities: Social, sporting, and educational sessions in a safe, non-judgmental environment.
Family Support: Reducing the isolation often felt by parents and siblings through peer support and expert guidance.
Accessibility: They remove the barriers to socialising that neurodiverse young people face in mainstream settings.
The Reality Check
I play football twice a week, but 26.2 miles is a different structural load entirely! Balancing a training block with a high-pressure role in London requires disciplined scheduling and zero excuses.Let's hope I'm up to it! I am not running for applause; I am running to ensure this local service has the funding it needs to continue its essential work. It has supported our family when we truly needed it and many others we know of that have been in need.
The Bottom Line
100% of your donation helps where it is needed. It helps fund the sessions that allow these children to be themselves and flourish to reach their full potential. It also helps families when they are in dire need of support.
UK Taxpayers: Please enable Gift Aid to add 25% to your donation at no extra cost.
Corporate Matching: If your company offers match-funding, please get in touch,
it’s the most efficient way to double the impact of this project.
Thank you for your support.
