My name is Kyle, and I am a former user of Ategi’s Supported Living services. I wanted to a fundraising challenge to give back to the team at Ategi who played a crucial role in turning my life around.

Initially I signed up to take part in a Charity Skydive event on April 6th Unfortunately for reasons beyond my control I was unable to take part for reasons beyond my control. Instead of a Skydive I will be climbing Pen-y-Fan, the highest peak in the Brecon Beacons. I am very excited to be heading to Pontypridd to meet the central office staff at Ategi on 19st June. I will be joined by Ategi Office Manager Karen Thomas and we will do the climb together.

My Story

My journey with Ategi began during a challenging period when I found myself sofa surfing between family members. I was trapped in a situation, where people I once considered friends turned against me. Faced with police involvement, I decided it was time to make a change.

It was a big relief to meet Sue at Ategi. She was always were there to help and had a massive impact on my life while I was battling personal issues. The supportive carers made an impression I will never forget and I learned to move forward in a positive way, thanks to them .

Now I have a safe home in supported living, and I am very happy.

If anyone who has is struggling and finds themselves with similar challenges, I would always say talk to someone and seek help.

Ategi are a charity that provides support and care for people with disabilities, and I am honoured to be able to contribute to their cause. As someone who has witnessed first-hand the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities, I know how important it is to have access to the right resources and support.
