A Touch of Magic's fundraising page for Portsmouth Hospital's Charity

Welcome to A Touch of Magic's 2024 - 25 Just Giving page,
This year marks our 15th year of fundraising, and throughout 2024/5 we are hoping to raise £15,000 for Portsmouth Hospital's Charity in aid of Queen Alexandra Hospitals Breast Care unit.
The Breast Care unit at QA Hospital covers Portsmouth and south east Hampshire. They see women and men that have either seen their GP with new symptoms or a recent screening mammogram has detected an abnormality which needs further investigation. Women are referred to a one stop clinic, an examination is carried out, imaging performed with a biopsy if necessary, many of these patients are reassured and discharged the same day, while others are given a diagnosis of breast cancer.
Breast cancer patients are supported by a team of Breast care nurses from the point of diagnosis, throughout treatment and follow-up, offering either face to face or telephone support. They also support those patients with secondary breast cancer and have dedicated metastatic breast care nurses.
They offer prosthesis fitting appointments for those women undergoing mastectomy, lymphedema clinics for those experiencing swelling following surgery. Management of side effects from chemotherapy or endocrine treatment, and family history clinics for those women at a higher risk.
We have lots of events and activities planned to help raise our target in which everyone is very welcome to. We appreciate all support be it large or small, we are so grateful.
Thank you for taking the time to read our page and for your support of us on behalf of Portsmouth Hospital's Charity.
All my love and thanks,
Jessica xxx
