Atul's Brighton Marathon fundraiser for The Fertility Foundation

Brighton Marathon 2025 · 6 April 2025 ·
Around 1 in 6 couples face difficulties conceiving, and for many, the journey to parenthood can feel incredibly isolating. It’s a painful experience when the ability to have children is no longer in your control. The emotional toll of infertility can be overwhelming, and the financial burden of treatment can add an extra layer of stress.
You may assume that IVF is funded for everyone across the UK, but unfortunately, that is far from the case. Many people find themselves ineligible for NHS funding due to factors such as age (over 35), already having children from previous relationships, or having had one previous attempt at IVF. As a result, countless couples who desperately want to become parents are left without the financial support they need.
That’s where The Fertility Foundation comes in. A small, self-run independent charity, The Fertility Foundation supports low-income individuals and couples across Great Britain and Northern Ireland who are struggling to afford the high costs of IVF treatment. By providing direct financial grants, they offer hope to those who need help starting a family but can’t afford the expensive treatment. You can find out more about the foundation here: https://fertilityfoundation.org/
I’m running the Brighton Marathon on April 6th to raise funds for this incredible cause. On March 23rd, I completed the Reading Half Marathon as part of my training, and now I’m asking for your help to make a difference.
For me, running a marathon is no easy feat, and the training has been tough, but knowing that your donations will directly support a family will keep me going. My fundraising goal is to raise enough to fund one family's IVF treatment. Fertility treatments are costly, and for many, they are simply out of reach. Your donation will directly support someone who needs help accessing the fertility care they deserve, bringing them one step closer to the family they’ve dreamed of.
I’m hopeful that together, we can help make parenthood a reality for someone who needs it most. Every contribution, brings us closer to making a meaningful impact.
Thank you for your support, Atul.
