Story

🌟 For a Worthy Cause - Let’s do it again together🌟

My Story:

This year, once again, I am taking the challenge to run the London Marathon on 26th April 2026. I do it for a meaningful cause in my heart ❤️, which is to raise funds for the Blind Children of the Royal Society for Blind Children (RSBC).

As I prepare to push myself beyond my limits and conquer the 42.2 km (26.1 miles) ahead 🏃‍♂️💨, I’m filled with determination, energy, and a renewed sense of purpose. Although I feel it is even tougher than last year, I am committed to getting to the finishing line!

Why am I doing it again? Because I believe in the incredible work of the Royal Society for Blind Children (RSBC). Last year, thanks to the generosity and encouragement of the people (family, friends, colleagues, dears and nears), I completed my very first marathon and raised enough funds to support two blind children for a full year (around £5000, doubling the original target). I am truly grateful for every contribution and every word of support. Together, we made a real difference. 🎉 🎉

This time, my mission is even more personal.

I’ll be running in memory of my wonderful Mum, who lost her sight in the later years of her life.

Through her experience, I gained a deeper understanding of the daily challenges that blind individuals face, and I want to honour her memory by giving back to those who need it most. Every drop of sweat and every determined step will be for her, and for every child who deserves a brighter future.

Here’s where you come in: your support can change lives! Every donation, no matter the size, will help provide essential tools, resources, and opportunities for blind children and their families. By raising at least £2,500, we can fund a full year of support for a blind child and their family.

And if we triple the target, I promise to bring a little extra cheer to the marathon by running in a ballet tutu all the way long. Just imagine the photos 😊😊😊!

Thank you for being part of this adventure with me. Your kindness and generosity truly make a world of difference. Together, we can bring hope and opportunity to those who need it most.

About the Royal Society for Blind Children (RSBC):

RSBC helps blind children to realize their potential. They run a family-first service, working with families to help provide the best possible environment for their children to grow and thrive. They also help blind children develop confidence and independence through various programs and activities, building amazing friendships.

Today, there are an estimated 44,000 blind and partially sighted children in England and Wales. Each day, four more children will be diagnosed with sight loss.

Blind children are twice as likely to be bullied. One in three will suffer from depression and other mental health issues, 90% will never have a long-term job. Two-thirds of blind people are living on or below the poverty line. Most will never have a meaningful relationship.
