Story

Dedicating my 2026 mileage to Team Hope 🩷💜💚

This year, I am dedicating my training and trainers, and every single mile to Team Hope and The Lily Foundation.

I am running for Hope, my friend Caroline's daughter, from Swindon. Hope is a true fighter who lives with a rare mitochondrial disease.

Mitochondrial disease strips the body of its ability to produce energy; for Hope, this means using a wheelchair and requiring 24/7 care. Yet, she is not defined by her condition: she is defined by her radiant smile and her incredible determination to defy the odds.

*)Endurance year

To reflect the strength Hope shows every day, I have set myself a massive year of endurance challenges and raised my fundraising target to £2,000:

- October 2025: Completed the Goggins 4x4x48 (52 miles in 48 hours).

- January 2026: completed the ARC 12, mega muddy 15 miles on the Cornish Coastal path in the middle of winter.

- [NEXT] 15 March 2026 : Bath Half Marathon (On Mother’s Day, look out for my daughters at the finish line! 🏁)

- 11 April 2026 : SheUltra 50k in Wales

- 3 May 2026 : Marlborough Downs Challenge (33 miles).

- 28 August 2026 : The Mercian Challenge: 100 miles of hilly Offa’s Dyke in under 42 hours! My longest run ever (if I manage it)

(I’ve also somehow been talked into my first-ever road marathon... after years of saying "never"! 🤫)

Why The Lily Foundation?

The Lily Foundation is a lifeline for families like Hope’s. They fund vital research into treatments and cures, and provide essential equipment, like Hope’s adapted running buggy, that allows her to feel the wind on her face and join her family on adventures. Most importantly, they ensure that no family has to face mitochondrial disease alone.

How you can help

I am pushing my physical and mental limits to the absolute edge this year because the families supported by The Lily Foundation face an uphill battle every single day.

I know times are tight, but if you could spare even the cost of a takeaway coffee, it will go directly toward finding a cure and supporting these brave children.

Every "latte" donated brings me closer to that £2K goal and keeps my legs moving through the long training miles.

Please stand with me, with Caroline, and with Team Hope.

Thank you for your incredible support!

Big love to all 🩷💜💚
