Story
Thanks very much for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Teenage Cancer Trust offers unique care and support, designed for and with young people. It funds specialised nurses, youth workers and NHS hospital units, so young people have dedicated staff and facilities throughout treatment. And lots more.
We at Bushido Karate Association are very lucky to be fit and healthy, training hard at our beloved martial art. But pretty much all of us have been touched by cancer - through family, friends, work colleagues, and some of us have had cancer ourselves.
For the Association's latest fundraising exercise (I use that word advisedly), we are using our upcoming Karate Workshop - taking place on 23 March 2025 in Eastwood High School, Newton Mearns - as the opportunity for fundraising. We will practise kumite and self-defence, but ALSO urge our members, those connected with our karate association and anyone else who can do so, to give us donations for combatting teenage cancer.
The Teenage Cancer Trust does fantastic work in supporting teen patients. We at Bushido are proud and humbled to help.
There will be donation buckets at the Workshop, but please be encouraged to give a donation. It doesn't need to be a lot - those fivers and tenners all build up. And don't worry about the date, we will keep this page open until we get as much money as we can to pass on.
Here is a case study. Francesca was diagnosed with leukaemia aged just 14. She was treated by Teenage Cancer Trust, where the support received made a world of difference for Francesca and her family. This video contains distressing details but tells a powerful and true story.
