We fund long-term, sustainable research to find a cure for brain tumours

Story

This year, the team at Autotech Group is gearing up for our biggest charity challenge to date. We're taking on the Three Peaks Challenge, aiming to climb the highest mountains in Scotland, England, and Wales. Our goal? To raise over £10,000 for Brain Tumour Research.

Why this cause? It hits close to home for us. After our founder, Gavin White, was diagnosed with a brain tumour, we rallied to support him and this vital charity. Last year, we joined the Walk of Hope and raised nearly £7,000. This year, we're going even bigger.

The Three Peaks Challenge is no small feat. We'll be hiking 23 miles and climbing over 11,000 feet in just one weekend in June. But it's not just our employees taking part - friends and family are joining in too, expanding our team of 'Autotrekers'.

Laurence Abbott, our Chief Technology Officer, says: "This challenge is a big deal for us, and we're all in. Whether it's walking, driving, or fundraising, everyone's playing a part. 'Together' isn't just a company value; it's how we're tackling this challenge."

Why Brain Tumour Research deserves our support

Brain tumours are a leading cause of cancer deaths in young people, yet they get only 1% of cancer research funding. Every penny we raise helps fund crucial research:

• £25 could keep a PhD student researching in the lab for a day.

• £50 might cover an hour of a Senior Research Fellow's lab time.

• £150 could pay for a Research Nurse to collect vital tissue samples every day.

• £300 helps buy the essentials for daily lab work on brain tumours.

• £1,000 could fund the publication of research findings, moving us closer to a cure.

• £2,740 sponsors an entire day of research.

Every contribution, big or small, helps us get closer to finding a cure for brain tumours. Join us in this challenge and help make a difference.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
