Story
My name is Ava and I joined the Scout movement when I was 11 years old. I have had many opportunities and experiences through Scouting that have shaped me as an individual. I progressed to Explorer Scout with Hatters when I was 15 and now have been given the chance to join the expedition to Kenya.
Please support me, as part of the Hatters Explorer Scout Unit, as we deliver conservation and education projects in Kenya during our expedition in 2026.
We will be staying in Maasai Conservancy areas, volunteering with the local community, scientists and conservationists. We're getting stuck into a range of projects, all with a focus on wildlife, conservation and education.
This is going to a once in a lifetime and life-changing opportunity for our Scout unit and an opportunity to deliver meaningful results for great causes. Whether we are setting camera traps in the bush to record movements of big cats, supporting education programmes to protect rare birds, painting eyes on the backside of cattle (yes, really, for good reason) or collecting evidence for scientists, we'll be making a difference!
