Aveen's fundraiser for Beatson Cancer Charity

Skydiving by the utterly terrified · 14 September 2024
Anyone who knows me will know I am terrified of doing something like this. I don't do theme park rides or even the waltzers at fairs !! The only thing that is going to make me jump (or even get in the plane to go up) is the fact that this is in tribute/memory of my mum who tried to do something that put her out of her comfort zone regularly; and the fact the money this raises is going to an amazing cause.
My amazing mum (Colette Duffield) recently passed away in December 2023 - 9 and a half years after being given a terminal diagnosis of metastatic breast cancer and given months to live. The staff from the Beatson (working from clinics at Crosshouse Hospital) supported my mum throughout her journey and the treatment she received kept the cancer at a standstill for soo much longer than we thought. All the NHS staff we met through this have been amazing.
I wanted to do something that I would NEVER EVER consider doing normally and that doesn't just stretch my comfort zone but annihilates it completely!
Please donate if you can - every little helps. The more I can raise, the more motivation it will give me to face this fear !
Its pretty booked up so my current date is 14th September - which is just all the more time for you all to donate and for my fear to build !! :D
