Story

Avneet is a Kent FY2 doctor, who currently works at the Pilgrims Hospice in Canterbury.

Sana is a Birmingham FY2 doctor, who was clinical partners with Avneet during medical school. They both saw the vital 1 to 1 care & high quality of services that the hospice setting provided, which the hospital environment wouldn’t have the capacity or facilities to deliver.

Pilgrims deliver skilled and compassionate end-of-life care, free of charge, to thousands of people in the whole of East Kent every year.

This is through the form of running 3 hospice sites based at Ashford + Canterbury + Margate, where patients can be admitted for acute care ranging from symptom management to end of life care.

They also provide extensive services in the community, with workforce going out to patients in their homes / care homes / nursing homes etc.

Supporting families is also a key focus, with many dedicated groups being run to support patients & families - from therapy to legacy work to much more.
