Avon Fire and Rescue Service's Technicians have been busy for the past 4 Months designing and creating a 'Soapbox Racer', to compete at this years Bristol Krazy Races Soapbox Race, on Sunday 7th September 2025 in Victoria Park, Bedminster.

The team started with a basic chassis, and have added axles, wheels, brakes, suspension, steering, and finally a Fire Engine inspired body to complete the look resembling one of our own Fire Appliances.

Once completed, the soapbox will have working blue flashing lights, two-tone horns, reflective striping and a full Fire Appliance paint scheme complete with imitation shutters on the sides.

All of these efforts are to raise money for the Fire Fighters Charity, a wonderful charity that aims to support Fire Service Personnel and their families, all across the UK fire services.
