Story

This is the most important thing we do together as a community. This is what it means to have pride in the badge. What Arsenal is doing for the Syrian child-refugees in the Za'atari camp is unique, it is special, and it is work that the club needs us to help carry on.

For the maximum number of payment options (including PayPal and bank transfer), select GBP as the donation currency.

Everyone who donates before the end of April will not only be helping support this cause, but you will be entered to win a place in a VIP box at the Emirates for Arsenal's second to last home game of the season against Bournemouth! This includes food and drink, hanging out with the podcasters, and getting to be part of the Breakdown Live program recorded at the stadium.

About the Program:

For 40 years, Arsenal-In-The-Community has been helping children in North London develop life skills through coaching programs run by the club. Now that work is being expanded to help children living in the Za'atari refugee camp in Jordan. Za'atari is one of the largest refugee camps in the world, with more than 80,000 people calling the camp home, and over half of them are children.

Those children face unimaginable challenges including threats of gender-based violence, child labor and child marriage.

The coaching for life program, run by Arsenal with the help of Save the Children, provides these young people a space where they can be children again. They can play, and build friendships, and most importantly, develop the life skills they need to forge a better future for themselves and their families. In the Coaching For Life program the children learn to advocate for their rights, to express their emotions productively, to build trust and forge bonds with others. The program is focused on developing sustainable resiliency within the young people who enroll.

Today, the program is proud to have achieved gender equality, meaning that the benefits of these lessons are being shared equally among boys and girls throughout the camp.

The contribution we make as a community will make a meaningful difference. What we raise can be the difference between the program shrinking, sustaining, or even expanding to reach more children in need within the Camp. And when you talk to these children, and their parents, the one thing they all emphasize, is that they need this program to carry on.

Your contribution to this cause connects us to these children. It connects us to the club. It brings us together as a family, united in the love of our football club, and proving that our bond can be a force for positive change in the world. This is the best of what we can be, and the words "thank you" don't go far enough to express the gratitude we feel, and the club feels, that you are supporting this vital project.

Thank you from all of us at the podcast, from Andrew at Arseblog, from the club, and on behalf of the children in the Za'atari refugee camp!

When you donate, you are giving to the Arsenal Foundation and your contribution is then directed to the Coaching For Life program exclusively. For US donors, according to the Just Giving terms of service, donations appear to qualify as a contribution to a 501(c)(3) organization.
