On the 11th of October I will join thousands of people to run Oxford's half marathon. This year I will run it to raise funds for Asylum Welcome.

Every week, people arrive in Oxfordshire seeking safety and a chance to rebuild their lives.They have to navigate unfamiliar systems: housing, healthcare, education - often with limited English and very little support. It can be difficult to know where to start.

Asylum Welcome works alongside people at this point to offer practical advice, guidance, and community-based support. This might mean helping someone understand their rights, access services, or simply find a place where they feel welcome.

As an Asylum Welcome volunteer I know how meaningful that support can be and am delighted to be able to fundraise in order to support it. As a runner I know the Oxford Half is a challenge but I'm up for it!
