Having lived and worked in the local area all my life, I have always been aware of the amazing care that the team at Saint Catherine's Hospice provide for their patient's and families with life-limiting illnesses.

In June this year, I started my dream job, by joining the team at Saint Catherine's Hospice as a Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner, (ACP) in Palliative Care. In September 2025 I will be starting a three year, part-time Masters Degree in Advanced Clinical Practice at Leeds Beckett University.

At Saint Catherine's Hospice, we provide care both in the hospice, and also throughout the 1,600 square miles of North and East Yorkshire. The majority of our services are provided free of charge, meaning that we rely on fundraising to help us reach the approx. £6.2 million a year it costs to care for our patients.

In September, I will not only be starting my ACP training, I will also be running the Great North Run for the 6th time in order to help raise vital funds so that we can continue providing the amazing care to our patient's and their families facing life-limiting illnesses.
