I don't feel smart enough to write a good story for you here. Basically I feel a bit ashamed of my lack of activism over the last couple years. I've not really said things I should have said and lost faith in social media as a tool for good. I saw friends are doing this and I felt like it's the least I can do. I feel fortunate and guilty to be afforded the luxury of switching off.

On a personal note I am writing this on day 6 of a chest infection having been locked in nearly all of that time and with a step count for the week of about 56. I've never run more than 8km in one go really and expect to finish this race three days after the start time.

When i get well and reclaim my brain I will write a better story but don't let this one put you off donating and making me actually do this.
