On 16th June 2026, our beautiful baby boy, Jack Patrick Gallacher Neil, was born weighing a healthy 8lbs 11oz.

After a difficult labour, Jack sadly passed away due to complications caused by meconium aspiration. No words can truly describe the heartbreak of losing a child, or the emptiness that follows. Although our time with Jack was far too short, every moment we were able to spend with him became priceless.

Thanks to the incredible charity Abigail’s Footsteps, we were given access to a cold cot. This allowed us precious extra time with our beautiful boy, time to hold him, cuddle him, introduce him to family, create lasting memories and take photographs. Those few extra days are something we will treasure for the rest of our lives, and we cannot express how grateful we are for the kindness and compassion shown to us during the darkest time imaginable.

In Jack’s memory, we are raising funds for Abigail’s Footsteps so that other families facing the unimaginable loss of a baby can also have access to a cold cot. These cots give grieving parents the invaluable gift of time, a chance to say hello and goodbye at their own pace, to make memories that would otherwise be impossible, and to leave the hospital with fewer regrets.
