Story
Backwater are taking part in Manchester's brand new music event where local, unsigned acts compete for recording time and raise vital funds for the Booth Centre, one of Manchester's oldest homelessness charities.
We must remember that this isn't just about music; it's about:
OUR community.
OUR people.
Our community of people who go every relentless night feeling cold, hungry and alone. Backwater are proud to be part of Primal Live to support the Booth Centre - not only a place that offers shelter and warmth - but a place that offers hope. From employability mentors to mental health care, the Booth Centre is a lifeline for many; giving the people who need it most a chance to be seen, heard and a chance to rebuild.
Our goal is small to you and me, just £25, but to someone sleeping rough, that could mean a brew and a conversation that reminds them that there IS a way out. If you can't give right now, even sharing our link to as many people as you know can make such a massive impact. Together we can be the voice that reminds them that they are never forgotten. ❤️

Backwater are a young, local band from Manchester. We formed in December 2024 as our final lineup of Mateusz (vocals), Robert (lead guitar), Rochelle (rhythm guitar), Criss (bass) and Caitlin (drums) from college band enrichment becoming something more - something bigger. Finding our footing after a packed gig at Band on the Wall in early July, Backwater have begun to write our own original music and have joined Primal Live as a way to utilise our raw, unfiltered personality and presence on stage, while supporting a cause that benefits more than 2000 people in need of help each year.

Mateusz Staszak (vocals)

Robert Jasiulewicz (lead guitar)

Rochelle Doronila (rhythm guitar)

Criss Preda (bass)
