The Leigh and Bransford Badgers Benfica are swapping football boots for walking shoes as they take on a special challenge to support St Richard’s Hospice.

On Sat 13th December the team will walk 5.2 miles from their home ground at Powick Sports Field to St Richard’s Hospice in Worcester. The walk, called From Pitch to Purpose, is all about teamwork, gratitude and giving back to a charity that means so much to the local community. The youngsters will also be giving up their Christmas Party this year in order to raise money for this wonderful cause. 

Manager Tony Farnsworth said: “We wanted to do something that brings the team together for a bigger cause. The hospice means a lot to so many local families, and this walk felt like a meaningful way for the boys to learn about teamwork, empathy and community spirit beyond football. Every step counts, and every pound raised will make a real difference.”
