Story
Thank you so much for supporting me as I take on the Cardiff Half Marathon in 2024!
I am supporting the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity, who put children and families are at the heart of everything they do.
They ensure that treatment and outcomes for children can continue to improve by funding new and innovative medical equipment and facilities. They support children and families in the here and now through their emotional support service and the much loved play specialist team and they invest in the future by providing technology that helps train the bright clinicians of tomorrow. They also strive to make the hospital a less frightening and more familiar place for children by sprinkling a little fun and happiness into hospital days.
As parents living in Cardiff we have experienced first hand the care and attention our children have received at Noah's Ark Children's hospital, and feel grateful to them for everything they have done for us. Firstly our daughter had Bronchiolitis repeatedly as a baby, and had to go into hospital at least once a month for a year as she faced breathing difficulties every time she got a cold.
Secondly our son had to have unexpected emergency surgery when he got an abscess in his abdomen. This was followed by another surgery and an 8 day hospital stay. Following that he had to go in twice a week to have his packing removed and replaced as the wound was open healing from the inside out.
Every interaction we had was exceptional and the care was first class. We benefitted directly as parents from the parents room during the hospital stay which gives parents of poorly children a much needed place to go and take a rest and have some food, all provided by the charity, meaning parents do not need to leave the ward when worried about their very poorly children.
Thank you so much for supporting my run and the Noah's Ark Children's Hospital Charity!
