Story
Hi 😀 We’re Caitlin & Paul Baglow & we’re incredibly proud to be taking part in this 10 week Côr Community choir project to help raise money for the amazing Velindre Cancer Centre.
Velindre is a charity that means a great deal to both of us. Paul has prostate cancer and has attended Velindre regularly throughout his treatment. The compassion, support & kindness shown to us as a family has been absolutely incredible & we’ll always be grateful for everything they do for patients & their loved ones. Taking part in this project is a really special opportunity for us to give something back & hopefully raise as much money as possible for such an important cause.
Music has always been a huge part of our family life. Paul sang with Risca Male Choir for 20 years & they even sang at Caitlin’s wedding. Caitlin also had the privilege of singing with them at her parents’ wedding celebration so being part of this new choir project together feels especially meaningful to us both. It’s lovely to see some familiar faces from Risca Male Choir involved in Côr Community too.
The project is led by Matthew Harrison, Musical Director of Risca Male Choir whose passion, energy & dedication is phenomenal. Under his leadership, Risca Choir won the Male Voice Choir competition at the National Eisteddfod of Wales in 2024, where Matthew was also recognised as the winning conductor. His enthusiasm & encouragement has made this experience so special for us both.
Our fundraising concert will bring together the Risca & Caerphilly Côr Community choirs for an evening of uplifting music, featuring gospel inspired songs & special guest performers, all in support of Velindre Cancer Centre. The concert takes place on Sunday 17th May at 6pm & we’d love as many people as possible to come along and support this incredible cause.
Thank you so much for supporting us & this wonderful project.
