Story
November is an important time to raise awareness of violence against women and girls, leading into the annual 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence. We wanted to mark this by sharing something we love: the joy, connection and community that dancing can bring. Baila for Change is a safe and inclusive event open to everyone — whether you are a complete beginner or a more experienced dancer, and whether you prefer dancing as a leader or follower. It is also a chance to try both salsa and bachata in the same space, meet new people, and perhaps discover a little spark of love for dancing along the way.
All proceeds from the event will go to Cambridge Rape Crisis Centre, which provides free, confidential and non-judgemental specialist support to women and girls across Cambridgeshire who have experienced rape and sexual violence. Their services include emotional support, counselling, advocacy and support groups, helping survivors recover and move forward.
