If you know me at all, you’ll know how close nature is to my heart. But really it should be close to all of our hearts as a source of good mental and physical wellbeing, a solution to the climate crisis and in its own amazing right.

So far I’ve dedicated my career to wildlife conservation charities and roles where I get to inspire people to take action for nature.

Having recently been elected a Trustee of Norfolk Wildlife Trust, I figured it was time to graduate from small actions in my own life and attempt a much bigger action.

I will be embarking on an eight-day trek of the entire Norfolk Coastal Path. All 135km (84 miles) and camping along the way. My husband Joel will be coming along to hurry me along when I no doubt get sucked into my binoculars.

Let me be very clear about this. Long distance walking does not come naturally to me and camping even less so. So this will be the hardest thing I’ve ever done.

I am so grateful that Norfolk is my home. Many of the country’s most precious habitats and species can be found on our coast, many of international importance! But things are not looking good for our planet and I want to ensure that future generations get to experience nature the way I have.
