Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are fundraising for our charity of the year, Oak Farm Learning and Activities Club (OFLAC).
OFLAC is an organisation that provides day service provision and café for adults with learning disabilities.
The service is based in Samuel Cody Specialist College in Farnborough and the Members meet twice a week Mondays and Fridays between 10am-4pm.
The FAB café is based in Farnborough Library and is open 6 days a week to all.
Here at BakerLaw, we will be walking THREE MILLION STEPS FOR OFLAC in September!
The walk is to try and raise £900 for bespoke food hygiene training for the trainees at the café to allow them to pass their food hygiene certificates and increase their opportunities to find a job after their training contract in the café. Of course, the trainees have learning difficulties – hence the reason for bespoke training. Most of them are illiterate and all of them struggle to learn. The point of the training contract is to focus on success and opportunities and show employers that with reasonable adjustments these trainees are employable and, in fact some of the most smiley, helpful, kind people you will ever meet, who will really brighten your day!
OFLAC are a non-profit organisation and offer work experience in a fully functioning café. If you haven’t been to the café, we would encourage you to please try and go along. You will never view a café in the same way again!
