Balmoral House Row · 18 April 2024

The Gordon Foundation was founded by Royal Charter at the express wish of Queen Victoria as the National Memorial to Major-General Charles George Gordon, C B, who was killed in Khartoum in 1885. Since its foundation, Gordon's School has been privileged to have the reigning monarch as its Patron.

Story

In order to raise money for our school charities, Balmoral House will be rowing from sunrise to sunset on Thursday 18th April 2024! We are going to set up an indoor rowing machine in the lounge and all students and staff will row for at least 10 minutes between 6am and 8.05pm.

We are raising money for our whole school charity and three further charities which have been chosen by students and staff. The whole school charity is the Camelthorn Foundation which is raising money to build a girls' boarding house (to be known as Gordon's House) at the Ngamo School, Zimbabwe. In addition, CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) and Papyrus (prevention of young suicide) and Angus' Army, raising funds for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, will benefit from our rowing challenge.

We will keep our social media pages up to date with this challenge.

Many thanks in advance from everyone in Balmoral for any donation you make.
