Ride to the Baltic - 2000 miles - Fundraiser for the RAF Association (RAFA)
The Ride:
A retired RAF serviceman riding the route of his predecessors during the Second World War while raising money for the Royal Air Force Association.
The Challenge:
Britain to the Baltic. Two thousand miles. Ten days. Twenty locations. A physical and mental challenge for a motorcycle touring novice .
The History:
Number 15054 Forward Director Post was a Second World War RAF mobile radar unit that travelled across north-west Europe from D-Day to VE-Day. You can read more about the unit at this link. As well as lorries and jeeps, they hadthree motorcycles for route finding and convoy escort.
Fundraising:
Cost of the trip already covered. All funds donated here will go to the RAF Association. Can we raise a pound-a-mile for the challenge - two thousand pounds?
Why donate?
In the year that marks the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, please help me to honour those who served on 15054 FDP by donating money to help the RAF community in need - veterans and currently serving personnel.
Thanks for looking, and thank you if you can donate!
