Story
I am going with my friend on the 12-day Dalai Lama Himalayan Trek to raise vital funds for Myton Hospice, in memory of my incredible wife who battled ovarian cancer.
In the final weeks of her life, Myton Hospice provided her with compassionate, life-affirming palliative care. This support not only eased her suffering, but also brought comfort to our children, our family, and to me as we faced the most heart-breaking time of our lives.
Just a year before her passing, I also lost my brother to a glioblastoma- a brutal brain cancer. He, too, received palliative care—this time at home, surrounded by his family during the pandemic. Though the circumstances were challenging, his final days underscored the importance of having loved ones close during such a difficult journey.
This trek is my way of honouring both my wife and brother and raising awareness for the immeasurable impact Myton Hospice has had on our lives. I hope to raise funds to ensure that others, facing their own dark times, can find the same comfort, care, and dignity that we were so fortunate to receive. Please join me in supporting this vital cause, as together we can make a difference for those in need.
