Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Aim: We are going to be attempting to complete the national 3 peaks challenge in the May Half Term.
Why: We will be raising money for BANA the Brain Acoustic Neuroma Association (www.bana-uk.com). Brain Acoustic Neuroma makes up about 8% of all brain tumors which is a cause close to our hearts.
What: The national 3 peaks challenge involves walking up each of the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales, (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Yr Wyddfa) within a 24 hour time frame and usually in this order. It involves 3,000m (10,000ft) of ascent over typically 37km (23miles).
The 24 hours starts when you set out on foot from the car park at the bottom of Ben Nevis and arrive back at the car park at the bottom of Yr Wyddfa (formerly known as Snowdon). It includes driving time between the mountains.
We will not be endangering ourselves through reckless driving or overhasty ascending and descending should the time slip due to weather, adverse driving conditions or any other reason. The main aim is to enjoy and complete the challenge but it is nice to have an ambitious aim to work towards.
Who: The walkers- Anne, Nathan, Neil, Damien, Tom and Olly. The drivers - Russell and Alex
