When dad was in his last days, the team from Marie Curie offered so much support, from giving dad medication to keep him comfortable, to offering words of comfort and support over the phone and looking after us as much as they did him.

Day or night there was someone to reach out to and because of these selfless, caring people dad was able to die with dignity and whilst we will never be able to repay that we will be forever thankful.

Barb was a non-runner at this time and after being persuaded to give it a go to help her cope, she found the love for it that I (Vic) have and 12 months later we are training together for the Manchester Marathon! Something I don't think either of us EVER thought would happen!

As we are running together in honour of dad, it feels right that we raise awareness and vital funds to ensure that anyone needing end of life care and their families are treated and cared for with the same compassion and love that dad received.
