Story
In July 2025 Lydia's and my world was shattered when she was diagnosed with an incurable and fast growing brain cancer called Glioblastoma. Being given a prognosis of 12-18 months is something nobody wants to hear and living through treatment, hopes and fears has taught us a lot about this cruel disease. The Brain Tumour Charity has been helping us through information, advice, support groups and counselling. They are the world's leading brain tumour charity and also the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally. All of this is desperately needed: Over the last 4 decades survival rates for most cancers have improved significantly; sadly brain cancer isn't one of them.
Attempting a Half Marathon is quite a challenge for me. My last big run was the Great South Run back in 2013. Since then I've been doing mainly 5ks, so there is a bit of work to do! Please make it all worthwhile by sponsoring me. Every tiny donation is appreciated:-)
Thank you so much!
Barbara and Lydia
