Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Event: 1 mile swim. (108 lengths of my local pool )

After my daughter Alison’s brain tumour diagnosis, in 2022, she didn’t think she’d ever swim again due to the significant weakness of her right hand side. Alison was taught to swim again at Jubilee House, Penrith, run by The firefighters charity. She has gained so much more confidence in herself and her abilities; So much so, she now swims once a week at her local pool. They also provide ongoing physio exercises for her to complete at home. They look after us for a week at a time, in Penrith, giving rehab and friendship for Alison and rest, friendship, support and counselling ,for both me and Steve, several times a year. Amazing staff and an amazing place! They feel like extended family to us. I just want to give something back to this amazing place and charity. We wouldn’t be where we are now without them.
