Tough Mudder Midlands 2024 · 6 July 2024 ·

Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

Story

At Barclaycard myself, Billy, Ben, Matt, James, Charlie, Caitlyn, Trevor, Kyle, Will, Sam, Jess, Josh, Harry & James have decided to take on the 15k Tougher Mudder challenge with the aim of raising funds and awareness for MND. Any share or donation would be hugely appreciated and Barclays will match all funds raised.

Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a progressive neurological disease which affects neurons connecting the brain to your muscles, leading to loss of speech and mobility, and ultimately resulting in death. Although MND is classed as a rare disease, 1 in 300 people will receive a diagnosis in their lifetime. Despite this, there is still no cure with an average life expectancy of 1-2 years.

Very little is known about the disease and its impact not only on the sufferer themselves but also the friends and family members around them as it requires round-the-clock care and assistance. This is why awareness and ultimately funding is so important in order to help families living with MND, as well as to fund research into finding an effective method of treatment and hopefully one day a cure.

The MND Association focus on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. By sponsoring us your money will help people affected by Motor Neurone Disease. Once you donate, JustGiving will send your money directly to the MND Association. Thank you again
