Story
This is a cause very close to my family’s heart. We lost my beloved sister Karin in April 2024 after a brief battle with bowel cancer, leaving behind a loving husband, two wonderful kids, three siblings, and parents who miss her every day. In addition to countless friends, family and students Karin had a lasting impact on.
In her memory, I am participating in the Thames Path Ultra Challenge on September 12, 2026. This event is not just a walk; it’s a way for us to honor her legacy and raise awareness about bowel cancer. I believe that by sharing my family’s story and advocating for this cause, we can help others who are facing similar battles.
I am aiming to raise a minimum of £575 for Bowel Cancer UK, an organisation that provides vital support and information to those affected by this disease. Every contribution counts and brings us one step closer to making a difference. Please consider supporting our journey as we walk for those we love and for those still fighting.
A word from the charity:
We’re the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity.
We fund targeted research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care.
We’re here to stop people dying of bowel cancer.
