After the success of the Barnstaple District Round Table Fireworks last year with dry weather. The event will be back on Sunday 3rd November at Barnstaple Rugby Club, Mill Road with the gates open from 5.30pm with the event starting at 7.00pm.
This year the event will be supporting the North Devon Hospice a worthy charity supporting people with cancer and terminal conditions both within the hospice and patient homes across the North Devon area.
Barnstaple Round Table Chairman, Rob Miles, stated “This is my first year at Chairman of Barnstaple Roundtable and this is certainly an event highlight for me and the wider people of Barnstaple as we raise thousands of pounds for worthy causes. This year we have decided to support the North Devon Hospice as one of our former members is currently being treated by the community nurse network from the hospice for his cancer treatment and we have seen the great work first hand of what the hospice does.”
The event normally attracts more than 6000 people, where hot and cold refreshments are provided by Barnstaple Rugby Club and The Voice radio station for North Devon provides public address and music for the event. This is the largest public firework display in North Devon and Barnstaple Roundtable has been putting this event on for well over fifty years.
Rob goes on to say, “It would be very difficult to put on an event of this size without the commitment and support from Barnstaple Round Table members and other neighbouring clubs from Bideford and Ilfracombe who come and support us and a big thank goes to Barnstaple Rugby Club and the Two Tiger fireworks display who always put on a great event.”
You can book your early bird discounted tickets for this year’s event by visiting the Barnstaple Round Table Facebook or you can purchase them at the event.
Over the years the event has supported Children’s Hospice South West, Families in Grief, Encompass, North Devon Food Bank to name a few and the club hopes to many more charities and worthy causes over the years to come.
