Story
I'm embarking on a challenging and rewarding journey to raise awareness for men's mental health by committing to burn over 50,000 calories in 30 days through rigorous exercise and active movement. This endeavor is not just about physical endurance but also about shining a light on the often-overlooked issue of men's mental health. The funds raised will go directly to ANDYSMANCLUB, a remarkable charity dedicated to providing support and resources for men struggling with the issues they face.
Men's mental health is a critical issue that affects countless individuals yet remains shrouded in stigma and silence. Society often imposes unrealistic expectations on men to be stoic and self-reliant, discouraging them from expressing vulnerability or seeking help. This toxic mindset can lead to severe consequences, including depression, anxiety, and even suicide. By taking on this challenge, I hope to break down these barriers and encourage open, honest conversations about mental health.
Your support will not only help me reach my goal but also contribute to a larger movement that empowers men to speak up and seek the help they need.
My daily progress towards this target will be documented and posted to both my instagram (Barracloughcoaching) as well as my Facebook (Barraclough Coaching). On top of this I’ll be organising group activities such as walks and hikes so others have the opportunity to take part and join in!
NOTE: Resting calories will not be included in the total, I’ll be using a Garmin Forerunner 945 to track my active calories burned & only my calories will count to the total on group exercises
