Barriedale's fundraiser for Street Trees for Living

Barriedale Trees is raising money for Street Trees for Living
STfL plants over 200 street trees in the London Borough of Lewisham yearly. We work closely with residents, schools and community groups to assist in sourcing local sponsorship and creating green corridors. We promote and nurture community interest and engagement in street trees in Lewisham.

Story

After the success of previous year's fundraising, and despite last year’s set back, we are back and attempting to raise the remaining money for this year's trees to be planted on Barriedale. Please could you help us plant two more street trees in 2025!

Barriedale was once fully lined with wonderful cherry trees. Over the years, some have been lost to disease, others to old age - leaving us with just a handful left to brighten up Spring with their fabulous blossom.

You may have spotted ‘Street Trees’ elsewhere around Telegraph Hill. Their organisation partners with Lewisham Council and local residents to help re-green tree depleted streets.

Four potential sites for new trees have been approved by the council. Now we just have to raise the funds for the trees.

We‘ve been asked to contribute £395 per tree (while Just Giving takes an extra tenner for processing the money). This goes to for the tree itself, site preparation and of course, the planting. You can donate anonymously if you would rather or keep the amount secret. Every pound will really make a difference - and help keep Barriedale blossoming for decades to come. Thank you for your support 🌳

Tree 1 This is down at the Vesta end of the road- It's actually quite difficult to find a spot for a tree down there because there are so many BT man-holes in just the places where you would want to plant. This site is right outside number 93

Tree 2 Up at the Goldsmiths' end, this tree will fill the a patch, it will be the most northern tree on Barriedale when planted- for now. inbetween 34 and 36

Tree 3 we have two possibly sites in the middle section of the road. I know we are only asking for enough for two trees but I'm still dreaming of three this year.
