Story
My brother Ryan and I are taking on the London Marathon! It's not just a random fitness challenge; we're doing it to support two charities that are close to our hearts: Anthony Nolan and Dementia UK. Our family has been directly affected by these health issues – our grandfather is battling leukaemia, and both our grandmother and my sister-in-law's father are dealing with dementia.
*As we aim to share donations between both charities, we have set up a second page - Thank you to all who have donated so far!*
Dementia UK
Dementia UK, on the other hand, offers specialized support through Admiral Nurses, providing comfort and expertise to families dealing with dementia. The challenges are immense, and the organization's dedication to offering assistance is something we wholeheartedly support.
Anthony Nolan
Every day, Anthony Nolan saves the lives of people with a blood cancer or blood disorder. We do this by matching incredible individuals willing to donate their stem cells to people who desperately need a lifesaving transplant. We also carry out cutting edge scientific research, fund specialist post-transplant nurses and support patients and their families through the transplant process and beyond. We won’t stop until we save the lives of everyone who needs a stem cell transplant. Every penny you donate brings us closer to that day.
Ryan has been registered with Anthony Nolan for the last 14 years, and in 2011 I was fortunate enough to be matched as a donor and be a part of a stem cell donation to a young boy suffering from Leukaemia.
How You Can Be Part of Our Journey:
Now, we're not just running for the sake of running – we're running for a cause. And we need your support:
Donate: Your contributions, no matter the size, will directly impact the work of Anthony Nolan and Dementia UK. Every penny counts, and together we can make a meaningful difference.
Spread Awareness: Share our story, not just for us but for those who may be going through similar challenges. The more awareness we raise, the more support we can generate for these crucial causes.
Join Us on Race Day: If you're in London or planning to be there, come cheer us on. Your presence will mean the world to us, and it's a fantastic way to show solidarity with the causes we're running for.
So follow our training journey over the next few months and help us get across the finish line!
