I am raising money in memory of my father-in-law and friend John Crabbe who passed away after short illness on the 21st of July with his incredible wife Sandra Crabbe by his side.

I am raising money for the charity CJD Network who support those diagnosed with this killer disease and their families.

There is no cure for this disease so the best we can do give support to those affected.

So , why Cardiff Half Marathon?! Firstly, like most people , you feel that you want to do more to help but never know what to do. I want to demonstrate to my kids who loved their Bampa that we can still help and ensure they live on in our memories. I also want to support the incredibly strong women in Louise (My wife) and Sandra who have been so strong throughout this. I have been in awe.

But more importantly (jokes) I want revenge! John and I ran this Half Marathon together some 20+ years ago and he beat me. He never EVER let me live it down. He showed me no sympathy as he shot past me in the last mile after I pulled my calf. Did he stop to help, of course not. "See ya Baz" was my abiding memory. So now is my chance to finally beat him, yes I have an advantage in that he is not running it, but I am trying to beat his time of 1 hr 43mins.
