Story
Rushcliffe Retired Runners are taking part in Nottingham Hospitals Charity's Dragon Boat Race 2025.
We’re raising as much as we can for Hayward House, which is a specialist palliative care unit in the grounds of the City Hospital. It provides high quality care centred on the needs of patients and their families. Its aim is to enrich the quality of life through the skills of an experienced and caring team. Hayward House offers palliative care from diagnosis, through the interim periods of advancing disease, up to and including end of life care.
Patients’ pain and other symptoms are addressed along with emotional, spiritual and social problems of both patients and their families. A bereavement/counselling service is also provided.
We know from personal experience just how incredibly important end of life care is. Amanda received palliative care in Hayward House in March this year. The care and support provided to her and her family was amazing and greatly appreciated.
Amanda’s family will be part of our dragon boat team.
