Story
I said...... never again …… but this is different! Different boat and I'm doing it with my son. For those than do not know what DW is, it's a 125 mile non stop, ultra marathon, canoe race, from Devizes, in Wiltshire to Westminster bridge, in London, and is the longest non-stop canoe race in the world. We start early on Easter Saturday and finish on Easter Sunday . The first 54 miles is on the Kennet and Avon canal and the remaining 71 is on the River Thames. There are numerous locks on the route, so as well as arduous paddling, there is a considerable amount of running involved too. The bulk of this paddle will be done through the night. Our anticipated time is 28 hours. We have two crews supporting us and they are vital, as they follow us all the way, feeding and watering us and tending to our needs. Without them, we could not do this. Thank you support crews ;-)
I’d love to see you enroute but apologise for not having time to stop and chat Any hecklers will be appreciated
I'm doing this to fund toilet installations into two schools in Moldova, this August, where, currently they just have holes in the ground. I will be part of the TEECH charity team putting these toilets in. All TEECH charity volunteers pay for themselves and 90% of monies raised, by me, will go towards the cost of the install with 10% going to Rotary charities
