Barry's fundraiser for Lisburn Friends Monthly Meeting

A cycle from Cork to Hillsborough · 1 September 2023
Our lovely old Hillsborough Quaker Meeting House which is an historic listed building, went through a difficult stage some years ago when it was in a state of disrepair, having not been in use for some time. Friends however, organised restoration works and shortly before Covid the Meeting House opened again to members and visitors. The restoration was a great success. However due to a funding deficit, the planned toilet facilities were not included.
We would like to involve the local community in using our Meeting House more extensively; however, our ability to do so is constrained by the lack of proper toilet facilities.
We urgently need to raise funds to provide a new toilet facility. To this end I will be cycling 450km from Cork Meeting House to Hillsborough Meeting House in Co Down from 1st to 8th September. My route will be Cork, Mitchelstown, Tipperary, Thurles, Mountmellick, Edenderry, Trim, Dundalk, Newcastle, and Hillsborough.
Please help us to raise these much-needed funds by sponsoring me. I hope to update you on the cycle details as I prepare for and then journey from one end of Ireland to the other. I'm very much looking forward to the adventure. We are extremely grateful for your support. Thank you.
