In memory of Barton Mills

After a long struggle to look after Dad at home following several hospital admissions we were in the unfortunate situation of needing end of life care for him. We were devastated at the thought of him leaving his own home.
We were incredibly lucky to be accepted for a place at St Joseph's Hospice and Dad was admitted in August 2022. Nobody could have prepared us for the journey we were about to have and without the kindness, care and compassion that was shown to both Dad and ourselves, I'm not sure how we would have dealt with the 19 months that Dad stoically rallied.
The dedication and kindness of all the staff at St Joseph's Hospice is second to none. The doctor, nurses and carers, the kitchen staff, the volunteers, all of them with a smile and ready to help whenever they could.
St Joseph's Hospice became like a family to us and it became our home for the 19 months that Dad was there. We will never forget it. There are no words great enough to express our gratitude for all they have done for us.
