Striding Together for Suicide Prevention — In Memory of William Battersby
We are taking part in Stride as a three-generation family — John and Debbie, our daughters Hayley and Molly and our grandson Sebastian (in his buggy!) — in memory of John’s dad William Battersby, who died by suicide in 1984.
We share a vision of a society where suicide can be talked about openly, where people feel able to ask for help when all feels lost, and where those affected get the support they need without delay.
We’ll be taking part at 9:30am on 28th September at Fell Foot Park, Newby Bridge, Ulverston. The race runs for 2 hours, and we’re planning to complete as many laps as we can of the 2.5 km course in that time. We’ll be there as Team William's Walkers, doing our bit together in his memory.
Every donation, every conversation and every step helps us get closer to a world where fewer lives are lost to suicide and where no one has to face this alone.
Thank you so much for your support.
