Batting Against Parkinson's is a 12-hour charity cricket net marathon in aid of Parkinson's UK.

I'm Daryn Potgieter. I live with Parkinson's, and I open the batting for my county disability cricket side. On Saturday 20 February 2027, I'm batting for twelve straight hours at PowerPlay RH1, the indoor cricket centre in Redhill, Surrey, to raise money for Parkinson's UK.

I can't bat for twelve hours on my own, and my hands don't always do what I ask of them, so this is a relay. I anchor two overs at the top of every hour, and a relay of club cricketers, disability players, juniors, women's teams and cricket creators keeps the net alive the rest of the time. Every run scored by anyone, all day, counts on one live tracker, and the whole day is streamed live.

Our target is 3,000 runs and £5,000 for Parkinson's UK. Around 166,000 people in the UK live with Parkinson's, and it's the fastest growing neurological condition in the world. Parkinson's UK funds the research, the specialist nurses and the support lines that people living with the condition rely on every day. Every pound raised here goes straight to them.
