Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.

Story

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer… yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease.

As a team we have been personally affected by the impact of brain tumours.

George- When I was 17 my dad , passed away from a short battle with a brain tumour (GMB4) at only 49 years old. As a family we have been working hard to raise money since then. Although we will never get dad back we can raise money to help people going through what we did. I'm not going to go on about how amazing he was, just the most important thing I learnt from his passing, to never take anyone or anything for granted.

Sue- I lost an amazing and beautiful friend to cancer after a very short battle last year. Her brain cancer was a surprise to her as she never thought she had a brain :) Her sense of humour is what kept her going. Love and miss her

Mike the former chairman of the company I work for recently lost his battle in late January. I only knew him for a short time, I saw his amazing fight and sense of humour shine through.

Alison-

Our dear family friend Pam was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2000. She was a keen sports enthusiast and taught P.E. She was treated with radiotherapy which changed her life dramatically. She eventually returned to work part time and was able to enjoy taking part in sporting activities again.

In 2008 sadly she was to see her life change again due to the treatment. Pam battled on and with the help of carers was able to enjoy days out and trips to aqua therapy. Visits usually meant sitting with her a recalling happier times which she remembered.

Pam sadly passed away in 2023 after a long battle that was fought hard.

Let's raise awareness and money to fund research to help all those who face this battle

For all of these reasons, we are taking on Battle Cancer Manchester 2025. This is a 90 minute fitness challenge, that consists of high energy stations- bike, run, row and lift pushing for max reps in 5 minute bursts. https://www.battlecancer.com/manchester
