Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are four Cardiff University students running the 2024 Admiral City of Newport Half Marathon on the 3rd of March to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK. We all wanted a new challenge this year and decided that taking on a half marathon was a good place to start. As young men, we have chosen to raise money for this charity due to the eye-opening stat that 1 in 8 males will be diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in their lifetime, Prostate Cancer UK can counteract this by 'investing to find treatments and better tests that spot fast growing cancers early,' therefore the more we raise, the more of an impact we can have on protecting and hopefully preventing future cases.
A further reason we chose this charity is because some of us have family members who are currently undergoing treatment. Their treatment exists due to the ongoing research and treatment that Prostate Cancer UK provide, which makes this charity extremely close to our hearts. This means we know first-hand the impacts Prostate Cancer can have on an individual and the family around them.
Whether it's £1 or £100, we appreciate every donation and it will hopefully help us go beyond our goal of £2000.
