Story
Thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation and I'd be so grateful for your support.
Those of you that know me well are aware that I had open heart surgery to have a mechanical heart valve fitted some years ago. I also lost my father at a very early age of just 44 to heart disease.
The surgery that I underwent, as well as the ongoing support I still receive, has literally changed my life and also allows me to live a very active life. By donating as little or as much as you can afford to this brilliant charity, you will be helping me give something back to the British Heart Foundation. The British Heart Foundation really is “close to my heart” and a charity I want to continue supporting.
I am a keen cyclist and I took part in the London to Brighton off road event in 2023, however it took me over 7 hours to complete the 61 miles, it was the hardest cycling event I have undertaken to date, both physically and mentally. That said it gave me the inspiration to sign up and go for it again, I have managed to talk my best mate who also happens to be my Brother in Law into training and taking part in this years event at my side.
The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, I know it can tough donating money but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!
