Story
Hi Everyone!
My name is Aariya, and I'm 11 years old.
In class, we've been learning about World War II, and we also found out about the amazing work of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. This fundraiser will help celebrate VE Day's 80th Anniversary and support the Commonwealth War Graves Foundation- who look after graves and memorials to remember service men and women from both world wars and continue to preserve their memories.
On the 8th of May, on VE Day's 80th Anniversary, I want to do something special to remember all the brave people who helped bring peace to Europe during World War II.
By donating £2 per person on my just giving page, any child at our School can have a non-uniform day! On this day, we can wear clothes inspired by the flags of countries that were part of World War II in Europe. This will help us raise money and also think about history and the sacrifices people made.
Here are some ideas for colours to wear but I am hoping you will do your own research too:
UK – Red, White, and Blue
Belgium – Black, Yellow, and Red
Poland- Red and White
I hope everyone joins in to make this day special!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
