Story

Hello! My sister and I have decided to run the Brighton Half Marathon on March 2nd to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.

As some of you may know, we lost our Dad to an unexpected heart attack early this year. He was young, fit and healthy. He was our biggest supporter in everything we did, and we miss him so much every day.

One of my Dad’s biggest passions was mountain biking, and while that never became my thing (I did take part in a few races as a kid though - and didn’t actually hate it!!), I’ve been getting more and more into running over the past couple years. Especially this year, running has helped me to stay present, and it’s been a nice distraction from the mess that has been going on in my brain as I try to process what happened.

This is part of the reason why I’ve decided to run for my Dad, and for all those we’ve lost to heart disease, who would love to be able to get out and go for a run but don’t have that privilege anymore. I’m also hoping to raise awareness around heart disease, which affects thousands of people every day.

We would be super grateful for any donation. Thank you so much!
